Social Networking helping to gain traffic

With the explosion of the Social Networking sites like MySpace many are flocking to these site to create their online presence. What many are forgetting is that this open to the public and depending on what they put on their site could come back to haunt them later in life. There are employers and Universities that are now surfing MySpace and Facebook sites for students who are applying for internships and college admissions. This has killed the careers of some new college grads if they have material that the employer may find objectionable. College admissions may look at the entries on your journal online as to your commitment to getting your education. If your MySpace is filled with posts and pics of the latest kegger some admissions offices may not feel you are serious about your educations and deny your application. It remains to be seen what if any disclosure is needed by colleges and employers if they make decisions based on online sites like MySpace or Facebook. The morale of this story is to be careful of what you post online even if you think that only your friends are the only one reading your site. Get connected online and make some new friends and reconnect with old ones.

How to increase your presence online

As we have talked about before, in order to get traffic there are numerous ways to achieve this goal. The first is through purchasing keyword searches, and using paid advertising to drive traffic. Another way is search engine traffic. Over 75% of all traffic is driven through the search engines, so in order to achieve higher rankings you really need to have your site optimized for the search engines. Web sites that have links coming in have a higher probability of getting more exposure as search engines love those one way links.

There are many different ways to archive this either through paid links, blogs that write about your site, or through web directories from similar type sites. Whatever method you use, remember to always use your keywords in your links, and try and be very specific to your site. Your ad connection will make a big difference in the audience and type of traffic that comes to your site.

PPC and a new model

In an effort to control our advertising costs, and better target our audience we developed Earn By A Click. It is a place where advertisers can place their ads/websites and specify the exact CPC, and how many impressions they would like to pay for. Their ads are then placed in our system, where our are users will view the ads for a specified amount of time, and they in turn earn a % of those click dollars. A very simple, but effective system.

Users of the system can earn cash by viewing the ads, and/or referring other members or Advertisers. There is also a blog for the community to interact and promote other opportunities at EBAC Blog. Jion for free and check out the alternative.

iPod on your next flight

In a deal announced last week some airline carriers will be making available iPod connections for their business and first class passengers. The plug-ins will allow you to plug in your iPod and have it charged. Passengers will also be able to view their iPod videos on the screen in front of them. Continental and Delta are two of the American carriers set to offer this option for their passengers. This is a great service for airlines trying offer more services to their frequent fliers with minimal investment.
