Alzheimer’s is a disease of the brain that affects nearly five million Americans. It was named after a German scientist who first described the disease. Alzheimer’s has many signs which vary by person but the most common early signs are forgetting times and dates enough that they affect your work and your lifestyle. Many people will have forgetful episodes and this is not necessarily signs of early onset. One of the myths of Alzheimer’s is that memory loss is part of the aging process. As we grow older our memory may not be as sharp, but researchers have found that sever memory loss is a sign of Alzheimer’s. As a our generation has become more sedentary  the thought is that we are not challenging our brains enough to keep the synapses firing. This may be one explanation for the rise in reported cases and also that physicians and consumers are more educated on the disease and the progression of the disease. Alzheimer’s is a serious disease and one that can lead to death as it affects your ability eat, walk, talk, and find your way home.

There are currently no cures for Alzheimers and charity events like the Memory Walk which is the largest event helps to raise funds and raises awareness about the disease. As awareness about the early onset has grown many people have been able to benefit from proper treatment to slow the progression of the disease. You can do your part by signing up as a Team Captain and gathering your friends and family to create a team and walk to raise money for research and a possible cure. If you have a family member that has been affected by the disease like I have you know the emotional toll it takes on the family. To someone you love not be able to recognize you is heart breaking and is something that is happening more and more across America. By volunteering just a few hours on the weekend to participate in the walk you will be helping those that you love and those that you will never meet.

This is a nationwide event and team captains are needed now to start forming teams and helping to create awareness and raise funds.

As people try and get that first interview via emails, nice paper, others are making their own video. This is something that is starting to gain traction, as the availability of broadband and video-editing software becomes more prominent. The use of a video resume and could be just the edge you need to get the in-person interview. With the like of YouTube, and Google video, more and more people are uploading videos of themselves acting out music videos, so it only makes since to use the medium to get a job.

A few key points to consider when posting a resume video. It should be short, usually three minutes, and specific to the opportunity for which you are seeking. You should treat it just like you would for a live interview, so no reading off of a script. Remember to rehearse before posting your online video as you never know who may be watching. We have all seen the tranquil butterfly floating in and out of peoples homes as they are now able to get to a peaceful sleep, with help of Lunesta. Now that butterfly has come into question, no how close it mimmicks Thyros, a maker of sleep aides, logo they use.

4 aces what? We play a lot of variations of guts games and 7 card stud. one guts game we play is called “Kings and Babies” Which means that this is a 5 card draw guts game where Kings and your low hold card is wild. Everyone is dealt 5 cards, then the dealer counts to 3 and says drop. If you think you can win with your hand you stay in, if not you drop. If you the only to stay in, you can draw up to 5 cards, but you must beat the deck. (The top 5 cards are turned over) If you win you take the pot, if you loose, you must match the pot and the game goes on. In the event more than one person stays, the person starting to the left of the dealer is allowed to take cards, and then so on around the table. Everyone show their hand, and the person with the best hand wins the pot, and everyone else matches. This is how the pot grows. Usually you need at least a strong 4 of kind to win, but you can stay and hope no one else does and hope to get a good draw. We have had times where the deck has drawn 5 of a kind, and the person who stayed had 5 aces. OUCH!

So I use to ask why would someone spend all that time to develop the theme, and then give it away for free? It helps get them links bakc to their site, and is a great way to create viral marketing. So if your are savvy enough, find something you are good at, and think about making it available to your customers for free.
